Funeral services for Flo Garnett, 78, of Vernon, were held at 10 a.m. Friday at Central Christian Church in Vernon with the Rev. Jim Antwine officiating.

Burial was at Lamesa Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Mrs. Garnett died on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 in Wichita Falls.

She was born on Oct. 7, 1933 in Lubbock, the daughter of John Raymond “Dutch” and Flora Smith Leuenberger. She married Ed Garnett on March 30, 1956 in Lamesa. She moved from Lamesa to Vernon in 1974.

She worked at Wilbarger County Clerk’s Office, Rogers Abstract and Claud Ayer’s Oil Co. She also worked with her husband as owner and operator of Garnett Auction.

She attended Texas Tech University and was a member of Rodeo Club, Delta Delta Delta Sorority Club and Vernon Alumni of Delta Delta Delta. She was a member of Central Christian Church. She was a Deaconess and taught Children Sunday School.

Survivors include her husband, Ed Garnett of Vernon; two daughters, Libbi Bray of Dallas and Lesleigh Garnett; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson.

Memorials are suggested to Scholarship Fund at Central Christian Church.
