Services for R.L. “Jack” Shook, 84, of Lamesa, were held on Thursday, July 5, 2012, at 2:00 p.m., at the First Baptist Church of Lamesa with Clifton Igo officiating and Chris Powell and Gary Redwine assisting.
Burial followed in Lamesa Memorial Park under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.
Jack passed away on Monday, July 2, 2012 in Lamesa.
He was born on January 25, 1928, in Bristow, Okla. to Jim and Flora Shook. He married Waynda Green on December 28, 1973, at the Sunset Baptist church in Midland.
Jack worked as a manager for Parks Well Servicing, he was a partner in Calor Trucking and an owner-operator for Mesa Construction. He was a member of Crestview Baptist church.
Jack is survived by his wife, Waynda; sons, Jimmy Shook and wife, Brenda, of Lamesa, John Shook and wife, Patsy, of Lamesa, Gary Shook and wife, Dorothy, of Lamesa, Charles Shook and wife, Cookie, of Lamesa and a step-son, Billey Gentry and wife, Donna, of Anacoco, La.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Gladys Bennett, Flossie Grimes and Lavonne Powers; and brothers, Jim, Odell and a twin brother, Elzie.
