High school grades 10, 11 still required to take TAKS

News - Published on: July 04, 2012

While students in grades three through nine took STAAR (State of Texas  Assessments of Academic Readiness) this past school year, students in grades ten and eleven took TAKS (Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills).

Students in the Class of 2013 and the Class of 2014 must pass the eleventh grade exit level TAKS to meet their graduation requirements, according to the Texas Education Agency (TEA).

TAKS has been used as the state test since 2003.

Preliminary TAKS results for those two high school grade levels were provided to the newspaper by the Lamesa Independent School District, the Klondike ISD, the Sands Consolidated ISD in Ackerly and the Borden County ISD in Gail.

Those preliminary TAKS results were not made available this week from the Dawson ISD in Welch or the O’Donnell ISD.
