After six years on the board of directors of the Dawson County Hospital District, Kenneth Porterfield is stepping down.
Porterfield said he has moved out of the Precinct 2 election district that he has represented since 2006.
“I have really, really enjoyed being on this board,” Porterfield said at the conclusion of Wednesday’s regular monthly meeting.
“It’s been a unique experience. I really hate to leave.”
Porterfield began his most recent term on the board in May, having been unopposed in seeking re-election.
“I started that term just about two weeks before we decided to move,” Porterfield said.
The move changed his residence from Precinct 2 to Precinct 4, he said.
