Milton Grant 'Spud' Echols

Obituaries - Published on: June 23, 2012

Milton Grant “Spud” Echols died on Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at his home in Hesperia, California, after a short illness.

Spud was born in Lamesa to Reggie and Josie Echols on May 22, 1926. He married Elaine Henshaw on July 1, 1950, and she preceded him in death in 2001, six months after they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

They had four children:  sons, Steve and his wife, Carol, of Claremont, California, and Dennis Echols of Apple Valley, California, and two daughters, Cindi Strause and Kathi Echols, both of Hesperia, California.

He was preceded in death by six siblings: Della Shipp, Boyd Echols, Durwin Echols, Carson Echols, R.E. Echols and Shack Echols.
