Entries due at Chamber Friday for Miss FirecrackerFront Page - Published on: June 23, 2012 Entries will be accepted through Friday in the 2012 Miss Firecracker pageant, which will be held as part of next month’s Independence Day Celebration at Forrest Park in Lamesa.
Tana Howard and Jeanie Coor are coordinators of the pageant, which is sponsored by the Lamesa Area Chamber of Commerce.
“This will not be a high glitz pageant,” Howard said. “The contestants will model for judges two times.”
All contestants are instructed to arrive in a casual red, white and blue apparel for their first appearance on the stage. They then will make one clothing change into a Sunday dress for their second time on the stage.
There are seven age divisions available for contestants ranging in age from newborn to 23 years old. But, Howard said, if less than four entrants are received for a division it will be combined with another division.
Registration forms for contestants and more information about the pageant are available at the Chamber office, 123 Main Avenue, or online at the Chamber website, www.growlamesa.com.
