Horizontal drilling operation scheduled near Patricia

News - Published on: June 20, 2012

An abundance of oil drilling activity continues in the southwest corner of Dawson County, with four more drilling permits issued in the past week for that area.

The Texas Railroad Commission issued a permit this week for a horizontal drilling operation by Chesapeake Operating, Inc. at a site about 11 miles southwest of Lamesa and a couple of miles northeast of Patricia.

The No. 1H Everts 36-17 DWS is scheduled for a depth of 12,000 feet.

Survey location is 200 feet from the north line and 1,980 feet from the west line of Section 17, Block 36 T4N of the T&P Railway Co. Survey, Abstract 145.

Energen Resources Corp. received a permit to drill the No. 1 Lishman 19 at a site about 15 miles southwest of Lamesa and a few miles west of Patricia.

That well is scheduled for a depth of 12,500 feet.
