Teenage male treated for injuries received in fight

Published on: Jul 28, 2010

An aggravated assault on Monday night that sent one person to the hospital with injuries to his head and around his eyes is being investigated by the Lamesa Police Department.

A 19-year-old male, who was not a local youth, was transported by Dawson County EMS to the emergency room of Medical Arts Hospital. He later was transferred to a hospital in Lubbock.

Police Lieutenant Larry Flenniken said on Wednesday morning that the male victim had been released from the hospital.

Lt. Flenniken said the male reportedly was from out of town, but the police lieutenant was not sure of the town where he lives.

Police were dispatched to a reported fight, involving several subjects and some weapons, about 8:15 p.m. Monday in the 1000 block of North Main Avenue.

Lt. Flenniken said police had identified approximately six individuals who had been involved in the fight at one point and time.
