Safety issues discussed at Head Start meeting

Published on: Mar 10, 2010

Lamesa Police Department Sergeant Rutilo Bernard and Officer Adrian Casillas urge Head Start parents and guests to use caution while driving this Spring Break.

The officers spoke during the monthly Head Start meeting held in the campus gym during the noon hour on Tuesday.

“Please remind your kids to stop and look both ways before crossing the street,” said Bernard. “I’ve been driving very slow around town and I’ve had several children run out in front of me. If I had been going the speed limit, I probably would have hit a couple of them.

“We can never be too careful.”
