Thanks to the quick actions of their bus driver, nine young students on their way home after a day of classes at the Sands school in Ackerly escaped safely when their school bus caught fire Wednesday afternoon.“She did a great job,” Sands Superintendent Wayne Henderson said of the bus driver.“It started to smoke and she shut it down.
