A 19-year-old male and a 29-year-old female, both from Lamesa, were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 less than 1 gram, which is a state jail felony, during a routine traffic stop on Thursday.
    Chief Alwan said the traffic stop was made in the 400 block of North Avenue H in Lamesa.
    Jose Guadalupe Ramos, the driver of the vehicle, allegedly was found to be in possession of Methamphetamine. As a result, both Ramos and the passenger, Patricia Ann Garcia, were charged with possession of a controlled substance.
    Ramos also was found to be wanted on four outstanding warrants, Chief Alwan said, including bail jumping, bondsman off bond, no driver license and disorderly conduct.
    In addition, Chief Alwan said, Garcia also was found to be wanted on one outstanding warrant for theft of service.
    Ramos and Garcia both were transported to Dawson County Jail.
