A board member’s resignation and possible replacement, as well as new meeting times, are listed as an agenda item for discussion at this month’s joint regular board meeting of the Lamesa Economic Development Corporation and Lamesa Economic Alliance Project.
Both of those local boards are scheduled to meet at 5:30 p.m. this coming Monday in the Presidents Room of the Lamesa Area Chamber of Commerce, 123 Main Avenue.
Nathan Tafoya, executive director of both LEDC and LEAP, told the Press-Reporter on Friday afternoon that he was not at liberty to tell which board member will be resigning, since he had not received a letter of resignation by that time.
Tafoya also said the naming of a replacement board member will require final approval by the Lamesa City Council.
Two board members have inquired about the possibility of changing the monthly meeting times, Tafoya said, so that item was placed on the agenda for discussion.
Board members are expected to enter into a closed, executive session to “discuss negotiations related to ongoing and/or proposed economic development and community development incentive projects” and to “discuss and deliberate real estate acquisition opportunities.”
